With thousands of scrapbook products on the market, selecting the right gift for a scrapbooker may seem difficult. This guide highlights the best gifts for scrapbookers.

Finding the perfect gift for a scrapbook enthusiast doesn’t have to be difficult. Some things never go out of style, like paper and organizers. Others, like chipboard and letter stickers, are so versatile that avid scrapbookers will find an immediate use for them.

1. Paper Packs

Aside from photos, paper is the basis of any scrapbooking project. Paper packs are a great gift because they put together coordinating papers organized by design and color scheme, making it easy to create a page. Manufacturers like Basic Grey, Anna Griffin, Chatterbox, and S.E.I. offer collections of coordinating patterned paper which take the guesswork out of deciding which papers complement each other. If unsure about which styles or designs are popular, an assortment of plain, colored cardstock in a variety of colors is the perfect option. All paper for scrapbooking should be archival safe, acid and lignin free.

2. Organizers

Brads, eyelets, die cuts, paper, pens, stamps, ribbon – organization is a must for scrapbookers! Desktop organizers are ideal for classifying those frequently-used items that need to be within easy reach. Rail systems that mount to the wall are great for organizing ribbons, inks, pens, or other small embellishments. Paper organizers keep patterned papers and cardstock from overtaking valuable work space, and having papers stored by brand, theme, or color makes finding the right paper for the job a breeze.

3. Chipboard Anything

Chipboard is one of the most versatile products in the market, which is probably why it is one of the items most likely to appear on every scrapbooker’s wish list. Chipboard can be painted, stamped, or covered with patterned paper, fabric or ribbon to coordinate with any project. Chipboard letters in a variety of sizes makes a thoughtful, as well as useful, gift. Other chipboard symbols and shapes that are popular are arrows, brackets and parentheses, circles, hearts, and stars.

4. Letter Stickers and/or Rub-ons

Letter stickers and rub-ons are important for adding interest and color to titles and journaling. As stickers and rub-ons can be placed directly over pictures, on top of other embellishments, or arranged into any pattern, many scrapbookers think of them as an essential part of the creative process.

5. Subscription to a Scrapbook Magazine

Scrapbookers are always on the lookout for the latest and hottest products, and scrapbook magazines are a great place to find out what’s new in the industry. These magazines offer articles with advice and techniques, directions for specific projects, and a wide array of layouts as inspiration. Some of the most popular magazines are Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, and Scrapbooks, Etc.

6. Gift Certificates

Some think that giving a gift certificate is impersonal, but any scrapbooker would be ecstatic to get a gift certificate from a local scrapbooking store, or favorite web site. Other great places for gift certificates are online digital photo printing web sites, such as Snapfish and Shutterfly. Setting up a free account is easy. Photos are uploaded directly to the web site, then ordered and delivered within a few days (check the web site for country availability).
