If you love flowers, there's no limit to the number of ways to make your layouts bloom! Your floral embellishments can be subtle, sophisticated or whimsical - you decide!

Incorporating flowers is a simple way to decorate your scrapbook layouts. From silk blossoms to flower shapes made out of chipboard, the possibilities are unlimited! Many floral embellishments range are ready-to-use; others can be altered to match your layout exactly. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Stickers, Die-Cuts and Rub-On Flowers

You can use flat flower embellishments in a variety of ways. Floral rub-ons in contrasting colors can draw attention to a photo. Stickers and die cuts can be used to create custom patterned paper for your background. If you’re using smaller stickers as embellishments, try grouping them together for maximum impact.

Flowers Made of Chipboard

Chipboard shapes add dimension to your scrapbook pages. Some brands are pre-decorated so they are ready to use. Unadorned chipboard is easy to customize using acrylic paint, stamping ink or glitter. The shapes can be glued onto your layouts, or you can have fun adhering them with decorative eyelets.

Silk and Paper Flowers

Silk flowers are available in sizes from small to giant! Some are designed specifically for scrapbooking, but you can also pick up inexpensive ones at discount stores. Don’t be afraid to place flowers so that part of them extends off of the page; simply trim the overhanging part to fit your page inside a page protector. Silk and paper flowers are best adhered using brads or eyelets or buttons stitched as centers.

Floral Patterned Paper

A quick and easy way to include flowers in your scrapbooks is to use floral paper. When it comes to patterned paper, there are a million different styles, so the key is to find one that matches the theme of your page and coordinates with the colors in your photo. If your floral-patterned paper is so bold that it overwhelms your photos, try cutting out flowers to be used as accents instead.
